About Maikashi

Maikashi is an 62-year-old mirror maker. Since he was a young boy, he worked at a mirror repair shop with his father, Kakashi. Maikashi left the business to create his own frames and began his work in 1986 when he was 25. He met his wife during an art show in Osaka, Japan, when he was 28. They got married two years later. He's created many mirrors for people, but his art gained popularity ever when he made the "Within a Frame" piece made for his wife. 

 

Unfortunately, soon after his wife received his gift, she passed away. Her funeral was held in 1996, and a year later, Maikashi went missing. Maikashi was 36 when he disappeared. Some speculate he went off the gride to heal his heart from the loss of his true love. Others say his artwork consumed him. However, Maikashi has been missing for over 20 years. There is no evidence of his 'runaway' and no signs of possible malicious behaviors directed towards him.
